Gwen Burton, B.S., President and Founder of Spotlight, is a full-time Dance teacher and choreographer with over 15 years of professional experience. She brings to her position over 13 years of studio managerial expertise, from three studios in Northern California, including teacher training, syllabus and program design, show production, and staff direction. Gwen competes professionally and coaches dance teams and couples, both professional and amateur, for competitions and performances. She directs the Social Dance program for the Experimental College at the University of California, Davis and has held faculty positions in the Department of Dramatic Art and Dance at UC Davis. In addition to studying regularly with internationally renowned DanceSport Champions in the United States, Gwen spent two years in the Caribbean tracing the roots of Latin Dance. She is a registered professional with the National Dance Council of America and has received numerous awards, both nationally and internationally, in recognition of her community service through Dance. Her teaching, choreography, and performance experience extends throughout California and as far as the Netherlands-Antilles in areas as diverse as Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Ballet, Jazz, and Afro-Cuban Dance.
Gwen is not teaching group classes during the month of September.
